Chalice Lighting words of Elizabeth Nguyen, adapted Robert Wyckoff
May our chalice flame guide our journey to transform the big and the small, to transform ourselves, and to transform the world. Unitarian Universalism means no one is outside of the circle of love. We stubbornly seek out the spark of the divine in each other. Interdependence means none of us is truly free until we are all free, and our thriving is bound with the earth’s thriving. We are a community called to honor love and justice.
Lighting Our Childen’s Chalice
We light this chalice to celebrate Unitarian Universalism.
We are the church of the open minds.
We are the church of the helping hands.
We are the church of the loving hearts.

Extinguishing the Chalice words of Shari Woodbury Robert Wyckoff We extinguish our flame but we know that Love is not only something we receive, but something we practice in community. Let us be accountable to one another for doing the work of living our shared values through the spiritual discipline of Love. As we continue to listen and learn, to act and grow, may each unfold in wholeness— both deeply loving and truly loved.
**Closing Circle: Carry the flame of peace and love
until we meet again. (sung two times)
**Please join in standing as you are able.
