Our Policy on Gifts
General Policy on Gifts to All Souls Church
All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist welcomes gifts in the form of memorials, honorariums, bequests and other extraordinary donations to support the mission and ministry of the church. Monetary gifts will be designated by the Board of Trustees for deposit into the Operating Fund, the Capital Fund, or the Endowment Fund, taking into account the timely recommendations of the Finance Committee as may exist. A donor’s specific wish for the designation or use of a gift shall also be considered by the Board of Trustees in its decision regarding the designation or use of the gift. In the event that the Board should decide that a donor’s specific wish shall not be fully met regarding the designation or use of the gift, it shall so inform the donor who may rescind the gift in whole or in part.
The funds currently in the Remembrance Fund shall be designated for deposit in the Operating Fund, the account(s) having contained those funds shall be closed, and the Remembrance Fund shall be discontinued.
Gifts of tangible property – such as works of art, equipment, furniture and books – that can be used for the mission and ministry of the church, may be accepted by the Board of Trustees in its sole discretion after thoughtful consideration.
