As our busy summer goes whizzing by, we find ourselves already in August. In ancient tradition, the beginning of August is Lammas (or Lughnasadh), the festival of the harvest of first grains, and an acknowledgment of the partnership between human beings and the Divine. This Sunday we celebrate our awareness that we are the instruments through which the Sacred performs in caring for the world. Part of that partnership here at All Souls Church is the sharing of our offerings each month, and today the Social and Environmental Action Committee introduces The Root Social Justice Center, our “share-the-plate” recipient for August.
