12:00 PM – FROM REV. SHAYNA APPEL
The annual Ecumenical Good Friday Service, normally held at the Guilford Church, will be available here on YouTube on Friday, April 10 at noon.
It will also be streamed on BCTV from noon to 3 p.m.
This is a long service but a beautiful one featuring music, readings, meditations and the preaching of our local Christian Ministers including Rev. Shayna Appel. Tune in for some of it or all of it. Let it run in the background of your day and let it reach out to you where you are.
Twelve pastors will collaborate, offerings readings and prayers for the day which marks the crucifixion of Jesus and which will lift up the victims of the COVID-19 virus as well as their health workers.
Rev. Lise Sparrow will offer the welcome and two readings. Rev Mary Lindquist, rector of St Michael’s Episcopal Church, Connie Baxter; a representative of the West Brattleboro Quaker Worship Group, and Karen Davis, a representative of the First Baptist Church will offer readings and prayers. Rev Rob Hamm, pastor of the Newfane Comgregational Church, UCC, will read the scripture for the day and the following pastors will offer homilies in this order based on the Last Words of Jesus.
