ATTENTION!: SUNDAY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Since it is difficult for worship leaders to catch those visual hand raises in our little “talking heads” boxes on Zoom, if you have an announcement you want included at our Sunday worship services, please send it to me here in the office ahead of time so I can get it to the ASC Board member making announcements at the beginning of our services.  Thank you.

NOTE FROM THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR:
“Office” Administration Hours: Tuesday through Friday – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
I will be in the physical office on Wednesday mornings.  Please be advised that, except for emergency situations,  if I receive calls or emails after hours on any given day, I will respond at the start of the next work day.  Thank you for your understanding of and cooperation with these changes as we continue to navigate our way through this unprecedented time.
Sincerely,
Beverly

“Poetry and Potatoes-Gratitude For the Little Moments” with Rev. Telos Whitfield

Poet Joyce Rupp writes of “gratitude for the little moments,” brief, simple encounters we experience every day. They can go by so quickly we miss the chance to be thankful, grateful for what we have and who we are, who we are becoming. Come with your favorite Poem and a Potato or two for our service. We will have time to show our potatoes and to share a poem during our coffee hour time!

1:00-4:00 PM – “ECODHARMA: A NEW BUDDHIST PATH?”  ZOOM SESSION WITH BUDDHIST ECOLOGIST & SCHOLAR, DAVID LOY
Regarding our climate crisis—and an intriguing perspective—you are invited to attend a Zoom session with Buddhist practitioner and author, David Loy. One ecologist has called Loy, “the Jim Antal of Buddhism”—Jim Antal being the United Church of Christ minister and author of ASC’s climate study book, Climate Church, Climate World.

David Robert Loy is a professor, writer, and Zen teacher in the Sanbo Zen tradition of Japanese Buddhism. His recent book is Ecodharma: Buddhist Teachings for the Ecological Crisis.

People have suggested that the ecological crisis is as much a spiritual challenge as a technological and economic one. Does this mean that there is also a parallel between the two solutions? Does the Buddhist response to our personal predicament also point the way to resolving our collective one? David speaks with a universal voice that is relevant to a variety of religious traditions.

How: Register before noon of November 21 at vermontinsight.org/retreats.
– Zoom log-in details will be emailed to all registrants on the afternoon of November 21.

4:00 PM- BRATTLEBORO WOMEN’S CHORUS 25TH ANNUAL FALL “SINGALONG CONCERT” VIA ZOOM
The chorus will be singing songs about rivers, welcoming the ancestors, and healing, led by Director Becky Graber. We will also welcome special guest Lisa McCormick to lead us in a singalong. The chorus will be muted, but you will see them, and hear them singing on some tracks from previous concerts.

Our concert is usually a significant part of our income, so we are asking you, our audience, to donate the cost of a ticket if you can, to help keep our budget healthy this year. A donation of $10-$25 would be much appreciated using this link.
